Readability
- Is the typeface attractive and readable?
- My typeface that I used was easy to read, bold, and clear. The color scheme did a good job of making the text stand out.
- Are there any statistics or other data that would be easier to read in a chart, graph, or table?
- I think the organelles could be put into a table to show their functions, but that would be a lot of text and very little, if any, pictures.
- Is high-contrast text, including boldface and all caps, brief enough to be legible?
- The contrasting text was brief enough and legible to read. I had a hard time picking my text as I like to fully describe the functions, but it was a good challenge to pick the correct text.
- What do images and other graphics contribute? Do they illustrate a concept? highlight an important point? show something that is difficult to describe in words alone? If the images and other graphics are only decorative, consider removing them.
- The images I used were to contribute to the overall purpose of describing the organelle. The only concept that was shown by my graphics was to give the viewer and idea of what it looked like and how to identify the specific part if all parts were shown.
- Are images and other graphics the right size—big enough to read or to see the important detail?
- I believe my images and graphics were the right size. I think they took enough space to make them recognizable while also letting the text be shown and read easily.
- Do images have an obvious focus? Will readers see the part that matters? If not, consider if you can crop the image.
- I believe my images have a focus. I think all of the images I used were cropped correctly to fully show the organelle, but small enough to not detract from the text.
- Are the charts, graphs, maps, or other graphics clear and informative?
- The graphics were clear and informative. It showed the viewer what the organelle looked like if they were to actually observe a plant cell.
- If color is used, is it appropriate to the audience and purpose? Does color direct emphasis where it belongs? Are too many colors used?
- The colors that I used were green and brown. I specifically picked these colors because the cell I was describing was a plant cell. It was a nod to connect the images/information with plant cells since most plants have some form of green and brown on/in them.

- How do all the formal elements, pictorial as well as textual and symbolic, contribute to your emotional response or intellectual understanding of the concept?
- My emotional response/understanding of the concept was that all these parts of the cell act like our organs in our human bodies. Each organelle has a function that has a specific job that has to be done within the cell. If the parts do not work, then the cell would cease to exist.
